Allan B. Hill split his childhood growing up in two locations on the southeast coast of Australia, being the big smoke of
Sydney and a small coastal resort town known as Batemans Bay. The two places couldn't have been more contrasting
in atmosphere, aesthetic and culture, and although the initial transition was a traumatic one, at the tender age of 9,
this upbringing had been beneficial in trying to understand different perspectives.
Allan always wanted to be a fighter pilot in the ADF but after three failed attempts at 17, 18 and 24, narrowly missing
out on entry each time in two separate forces, he knew it was time to consolidate and look elsewhere for opportunity.
High school dreams aren't always realised, even after university too...
Armed with some kind of Ba Science (mathematics and human biochemistry) from UC was made mostly redundant,
Allan was shooting blanks on employment targets in the post-global financial crisis.

Allan was doomed to stay in retail employment which although was perfect
as a supplementary income as a student it left him uninspired as a graduate.
"There comes a time in every person's life where the monotony becomes too much and drastic measures need to be
taken, in order to keep sane."
Allan borrowed a backpack from a colleague and boarded a Virgin Australia flight to Los Angeles where he began his
odyssey of global travel adventures, vagabonding, and, of course, self-discovery...
This new path was forged at the ripe age of 25-- (The perfect time for a quarter-life crisis.)

After many days exploring North America and Europe another moment of inspiration came in Birmingham on a cold
March morning and since 2011 he's been dedicated to learning and mastering the writing craft.
Oh, and he's still not returned the backpack.
