'Submergent' is a thrilling drama about an aging mother who is struggling to come to terms with Dementia type symptoms and the inherent knock-on effect this has on her small farming family. She is traumatized by tragic events in her past and these stresses combined with her illness become chaotic, fabricated memories which although very real to her are not true in reality.

Jon M. Wilson, who directed 'Homeless' brought an A4 page of notes and scribbles of an idea he wanted to see formulated into a cohesive story centred around the special bond that exists between a mother and her child. Allan was able to capture the vision Jon had for this endeavour. The real appeal was exploring how the antagonist in the story could be the protagonist's illness and that polar ends of character structure could be expressed within the one character.

After some time an original draft was created. But there were many, many screenplay redrafts...

The narrative has constantly evolved over time and definitely improved. Jon gives very intelligent director's notes. One of these evolutionary drafts won a platinum award at a festival in the USA. This same draft was road-tested in an actors table read during the 2018 @londonswf.

Jon is now living in Washington D.C. and the script has found a wide-spread and talented team of collaborators in the USA and is in pre-production. The crew intends to shoot in the summer of 2021.
